My idea was to buy an E cable long enough to just reach a socket nearer to the YV box then plug the home adapter into that socket so it's nearer to the YV box probably about 12ft away. I think one problem is that where the adapter kit is connected to the router its in the extension part of the house where the wiring is a lot newer and it has it's own fuse box. I've got a homeplug powerline adapter kit supplied by talktalk & obv both are connected with E cables one to the router the other to the YV box. The YV box is probably 20ft away maybe a bit more maybe a bit less in a straight line by the time a cable has gone around bends along floors etc it's more like 40 or 50 feet.
